FAQ: DEX Stage 3 Changes - CHSP Reporting
DEX Stage 3 introduces new CHSP reporting requirements from July 2026. Updates are currently being finalized by the department after testing and are expected by mid‑August 2026.
Q: Do we need to configure anything in CareVision?
A: No major system configuration is required, but providers must have correct data capture and workflows in place.
We recommend that you:
Ensure required fields are being captured in existing workflows
Review configuration (billing categories, line items)
Prepare staff for new data entry requirements
Q: What are the key new data requirements?
A: Key fields include:
Subcontractor (externally delivered)
Volunteer involvement
Session location (home vs community)
Overnight services (system-derived)
Meals (type, diet, preparation)
Time spent with client (engagement minutes)
Transport (distance and travel time)
Q: How do these fields translate into CareVision?
A:
1. Client Profile Setup
My Aged Care ID (MAC ID)
2. Bookings (Service Delivery Data)
Capture the following at booking level:
Externally Delivered - marks subcontractor
Volunteer Involved - new checkbox
Session Location - Home or Community
Overnight - automatically calculated if service spans midnight
3. Meals
Meals must be recorded using manual line items:
4. Time Spent with Client
Captures actual engagement time, not just service duration
May require internal process decisions (Example: defaults or staff input)
Still being operationally refined
5. Transport (if applicable)
Q: What should we do now?
A: Recommended Steps
Correct Data Capture in CareVision
