Overview
Clients highly value having a regular caregiver they can consistently depend on. This need is precisely where Preferred Carers come into play.
Within Carevision, we offer a feature called Preferred Carer. This functionality allows organizations to designate a specific worker as the preferred caregiver for a client. This means that clients can receive services from a caregiver they trust and feel comfortable with, fostering a sense of continuity and reliability in their care. By utilizing the Preferred Carer feature, organizations can ensure that clients receive personalized and consistent care, enhancing their overall experience and satisfaction.
Setting a Preferred Carer will also impact the
Autoschedule feature on the Scheduling page. When a staff member is designated as a Preferred Carer, the Autoschedule hierarchy will prioritize assigning this caregiver to the client above others.
Setting up Preferred Carers
Care Plan
Left-side Main Menu >>> People >>> Clients >>> Select any Client
Click Update Care Plan button
Expand Care Plan Item or the Recurring Services (red arrow)
Once expanded, scroll further down and look for PREFERRED SHIFT PATTERN(S) & CARER(S) and click on it.
When considering a Preferred Carer, we need to make sure that they have the right Availability and appropriate Qualifications.

Qualified and Available Carers - staff members that has the required Qualification and the Time/Duration of the booking.
Qualified Not Available - these are staff that has the Qualification required by the service but does not have any working hours during the schedule of the service.
Other Carers - these are staff that don't belong on the above categories.

You can only choose ONE Preferred Carer.

Restrict booking allocation to the above preferred staff only checkbox - if this is ticked and the staff is not Available during that time, it will not follow the Autoschedule hierarchy and the booking that the staff is tied on will remain Unscheduled in Scheduling page.
Once you have selected the Preferred Carer for that specific service, you can go ahead and Save your changes.
Don't forget to SAVE the whole Care Plan
To verify, remain on the Client Profile and head to Calendar, then tick Show Preferred Staff toggle to see who is assigned.

This is different from the Restrict booking allocation to the above preferred staff only. This is only applicable to specific Care Plans.
