FAQ: Why are two invoices generated under Support at Home?
Why are two invoices generated under Support at Home?
Under Support at Home, client contributions are now calculated as a percentage of services delivered rather than a fixed fee.
Because of this, billing outputs are split, resulting in two invoices for different debtors:
How are client contributions calculated?
Client contributions are determined as a percentage set at the Funding Source Service Program Allocation level and applied to services delivered within a billing period. A maximum contribution cap may also apply where configured.
Example:
John Smith is a participant who has a home care package with a co-contribution rate of 20% for Support Services and 10% for Personal Services. His Funded account is JSmithFunded, while his co-contribution account is JSmithHCPContributions. During the specified period, they have received the following services:
| Service Category | Service | Details |
| Support | Shopping | 1 Hour @ $80 / Hour |
| Personal | Nursing | 1 Hour @ $120 / Hour
|
When this is invoiced it will result in the following invoices and transaction lines.
| Debtor | Invoice Number | Description | Qty | Rate | Total |
| JSmithFunded | INV-0001 | [Support] Shopping DD/MM/YYYY - 1 Hour - $80 with 20% Co Contribution | 0.8 | 80 | $64 |
| JSmithHCPContributions | INV-0002 | [Support] Shopping DD/MM/YYYY - 1 Hour - $80 with 80% Govt Contribution | 0.2 | 80 | $16 |
| JSmithFunded | INV-0001 | [Personal] Nursing - DD/MM/YYYY - 1 Hour - $120 with 10% Co Contribution | 0.9 | 120 | $108 |
| JSmithHCPContributions | INV-0002 | [Personal] Nursing - DD/MM/YYYY - 1 Hour - $120 with 90% Government Contribution | 0.1 | 120 | $12 |
What does this look like on an actual invoice?
A sample Xero invoice will show the same service split into two lines:

Can invoice numbers be aligned across both invoices?
Yes. Separate prefixes can be used for each account (funded and contribution), while maintaining the same numeric sequence for easy reconciliation.
In this example, the invoice numbers will correspond to the same number for both government and client contributions:
