Shift Based Scheduling
This new scheduling approach allows your organisation to build shift patterns around a site, or household, or group for example. You can then assign client services to shift patters as opposed to staff, and manage runs around a village or within a location. This capability it suited to Residential Aged Care, Retirement Villages, Event Spaces, Group Programs, or where fixed order of bookings is possible.
Please see the attached overview and detail contained below for an overview of this planned new capability. If this is of interest to your organisation please reach out to our team to contribute to it and learn more.
List of planned functions in this capability:

This is a summary of the planned capability it is not an exhaustive list and it is subject to change
A shift pattern is a bit like a recurring care plan item, it has the rules about the shift and details of when it should recur, rules about who should be assigned to work the shift, and details about how the shift is billed / paid or claimed.
On the client care plan or when adding an ad hoc booking for a client, allow for the item to be allocated to a shift just like you can add a preferred care worker, except selecting a shift that matches up to the timeframe and skills requirement of the service.
Shift patterns should be returned in the scheduling teams area. This will allow unallocated shifts to be assigned from the teams scheduling area. Because care plan items and ad hoc bookings can be assigned to a shift pattern, we need to display this on the teams UI by grouping the items to the shift
Shift Patterns should return as a different colour to the usual care plan or ad hoc booking items so they can be distinguished. On the [i] you can add details we need to allow for the same actions as bookings, i.e.:
• Scheduling Recommendations
• View and Add Instructions
• View and Add Tasks
• View and Add Form Formats
• Cancel, Unassigned
For the bookings that are grouped with the shift pattern, they can also be edited by clicking on [i] just as you can for a normal booking. You can re-allocate a booking away from the shift pattern to an individual, this would change this once off item not the recurring pattern for either the shift pattern or the care plan item.
The Mobile Calendar needs to be able to view the shifts as a type of booking, including:
• Check into a Shift Once Off Booking
• Check out of a Shift Once Off Booking
• View Instructions, Tasks, Forms, and Details
• View and Mark Complete the individual bookings for clients within the shift
• For bookings within the shift allow user to view and interact with the booking like normal i.e. complete tasks, forms, notes, view client details, check in / out etc
