What are Staff Leave Types?
Used to distinguish what type of leave that a staff is going to file or create. They are also used to distinguish the staff leave details that are contained in the payroll and timesheet exports.
Why do we need Staff Leave Types?
To tell whether this leave is for specific events like emergencies or occasions, and to keep track of the type of leave staff take in line with their entitlements.
How to create Staff Leave Types?
1. Go to Settings → Leave Types.
2. Click Create Leave Type button on the upper right hand corner.
3. Fill up necessary fields as explained below
- Leave Type Code - Unique identifier of the staff leave type this is included in timesheet and payroll exports.
- Leave Type Name - Name of the staff leave type.
- Approval Required - If this is enabled, staff leaves that will use this type need to be approved first. If disabled, staff leaves that will use this type are automatically approved by default and any bookings assigned to the staff member during the leave period unassigned from them. So be careful when allowing leave types that do not require approval.
- Status - If set to Active, this can be use by future leaves.
- Work Type - Tells whether this leave is dedicated for Full Time, Part Time or Casual Workers. To activate leave eligibility rules go to the General Config.
4. Click Save. After it successfully saved, it will be added to Leave Types list.
How to modify Staff Leave Types?
1. Click an existing staff leave type.
2. Modify the fields that you wanted.
3. Click Save button. After it successfully saved, the existing type will be modified.
