Unanswered Fields in Forms

Unanswered Fields in Forms

OVERVIEW

Unanswered fields in forms refer to those that have not been filled out by users. The options for displaying unanswered fields—Blank, No Answer, and N/A (Not Applicable)—each serve a unique purpose and play an important role in understanding and interpreting the data.  The additional toggles in General Configuration has been created in which the client can choose what will display in Forms' print formats.

Display as Blank

Refers to a field or value that has not been filled out or entered. It is essentially an empty space where no data has been provided.

Display as “Display as Blank” > Display as blank

N/A

Stands for "Not Applicable" and is used when a question or field does not apply to the respondent or situation.

Display as “N/A” > Display as blank

No Answer

Indicates that a question or field was presented but the respondent or user chose not to provide a response.
Display as "No Answer' > Display as No Answer
The toggle can be default to display “No Answer”, when clicked, it displays blank.

When completing and submitting Forms, then after printing it, unanswered questions or selections appear as “No Answer” in print format.

We recommend that the forms are set up with the option to select Not Applicable (i.e. if it is a drop down box then one of the options can be Not Applicable). If it does not apply to a particular situation or if it signifies intentional absence of data. This is different to not answered or No Answer but would require you to update your form formats to adopt.
