Keeping your billing categories up to date helps ensure your records stay accurate and your processes run smoothly. This document describes how to update CHSP billing categories in order to update the service type ID.
Keywords: chsp, billing, category, update, service type, rate set, ref 3
Go to Settings.
Click Billing Categories.
Select an active billing category from the list. You can update billing categories such as time-based, kilometer-based, and other billing categories.
Click Edit next to the rate set you want to update.
We recommend always updating rates based on your existing rates in this section. If you edit existing rates, all your existing codes will be copied over, making the process more efficient. If you create a new draft from scratch, you will need to add all codes manually, which can be more time-consuming.
5. In the Effective From field, enter 1 July 2025 as the date when the new billing category will take effect.
We recommend setting the effective date to 1 July 2025 to ensure your updates align with the new code implementation and maintain accurate historical reporting. Using this date helps prevent any unintended changes to past data.
6. Click the Ref 3 field for the CHSP billing category to update the service type ID. Enter the new value for Ref 3 that corresponds to the updated service type.
7. Update Ref 3 for all time brackets within that billing category, as there may be multiple time brackets to update.
8. Click Save after updating each time bracket.
9. Click Publish to apply the changes.
10. Scroll down and click Save again to finalize.
Your billing category has been updated based on the changes you made. For more information about updating billing categories, contact the CareVision support team.
