The client group set and client group meta data engine in CareVision allows you to easily identify clients for various business processes. Your organisation can set up any combination of meta data groups that you need for reporting, or business processes. Some common examples include
- Vulnerability Level - Track level of vulnerability to make responding to an emergency event more streamlined by easily identifying lists of clients
- Additional Demographics - Track additional demographic information which is useful for reporting and when applying for funding or grant programs
- Discount Groups - Track clients that sign up in a discount group to automatically apply the discount for a set period of time
- B2B or B2C - Track if a client is a B2B client or a B2C client and automatically apply GST treatments accordingly.
When designing your client group sets and client groups it is important to note that a client can only be a member of one group within a group set at any one time. Client group memberships are time based and are set up with a start time. This approach allows the client group membership to be tracked over time. If a client's circumstances change then you would need to put an end date on their membership in one group and before adding the new group membership, and be sure that the days do not overlap. This is an important consideration when designing your client group sets and client groups as it may impact your design.
Lets say there are 3 different groups that you want to track, these groups could be grouped into one or 2 group sets depending on how they are used in practice.
If there is never a chance that a client can be a member of more than one of the groups at any one time, then it is easy to go with the 1st option above.
However if there is a chance that the client membership to groups overlap as shown in the diagram below, then it is best to approach the set up of the group sets as shown in option 2 above.
Meanwhile if a client can be part of any of the groups at any one time, you can set up the 3 groups without a group set at all and there will be no restriction on the client being a member or all three at any one time.
