About Me - Know Your Client

Know Your Client

For your case managers and your care delivery team it is important that they know the person they are caring for. This helps improve the quality of the service and your teams can build raport with your clients more easily. While it is easy to be caught up with the clinical, compliance and regulatory requirements of delivering care, at the end of the day it is a business about people and it helps if your teams know a bit about the client as a person, their likes and dislikes when going into the home.

About Me

This field is found on the portal in the clients detailed profile, and should be used to capture a social media style bio about the person, and their background. It is recommended to not use this field for capturing clinical or sensitive information as it is included for all service delivery team to see. See some examples below
  1. The About Me for Harry Potter is ideal as it is about the person and does not reference any sensitive information
  2. The About Me for Robert John Fordham is acceptable so long as Robert has given consent for the information about the heart attack to be included. It is still about the person and informative.
  3. The About Me for Angela is not acceptable as it is far too detailed about the clinical and sensitive information of the client, it also does not help a reader know the person and contains information that could cause disputes. This information is still relevant about the client but it is best contained in a note or important notes on the client care plan, or on a client condition treatment plan which have appropriate and controlled levels of security

Likes and Dislikes

Teams can keep track of things a client like or does not like and it helps others with ensuring a good quality service is delivered in line with the clients likes and dislikes. This can also be useful to match clients and staff with similar interests, or help teams with knowing what topics to avoid.

When adding this detail you simply type in the field and hit enter or click the create button after each individual item. It is best to break the items up into unique items so they can be easily removed if the clients preference changes.
